Standard Sales Service
We charge a highly competitive commission rate for the standard sales service across all accounts which includes:

  • retail and publisher consolidation
  • comprehensive bookshop representation for both new title subscriptions and backlist stock
  • additional bookshop coverage by our sister Compass DSA sales team for "crossover" titles
  • library supplier and wholesaler coverage as relevant
  • proactive head office liaison with all the main bookselling chains
  • appropriate back office and admin support
  • regular communication and market feedback

    Payment Terms

    We have a standard model which has benefits for both parties which can assist in providing a stable cash flow. We are very flexible and are keen to set up the most efficient method for both parties.

    Please note that:
    1. the charging system in Ireland is slightly different, and needs to be discussed on an individual basis
    2. there will be a separate tariff for agreed non-standard sales, which can be negotiated individually
    3. we recognise that high discount sales put pressure on your margins

    Additional Charges
    Compass Academic offers a range of additional services such as academic calling, desk and inspection copy campaigns and textbook exhibitions and can also provide marketing and market research services especially formulated for the academic market as required.

    These are charged on an annual fee basis or at a basic day rate and the company will also be pleased to discuss any other special services required outside of the standard sales contract and is committed to pricing these realistically.
